Abstract Leonard Sylvester Reinhart was born November 22, 1919 in Bascom, Ohio. Leonard had six siblings and they all grew up and were schooled in Ohio. Leonard enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Forces on December 18, 1942, and was trained to maintain the B-17 aircraft, serving the majority of his military time at Amarillo Field, Amarillo, Texas. William H. Renison (October 29, 1906 – May 1, 1955) had a diverse background of aircraft industrial occupations, but mostly within the managerial positions. He attended the University of Michigan in 1928 and graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Following his graduation, Renison maintained a steady and rising career in aircraft industries for almost three decades.

Eugene "Smokey" Rhoads was the Chief Mechanic on the NC-4 first transatlantic flight in 1919. He later went on to have a successful career in the Navy and was Chief Inspector at Lockheed Aircraft.
